KibbouaEtAl2011-Bridge 3
Description
KibbouaEtAl2011
Algeria
Seismic hazard: 41 worldwide accelerometer records from which, 21 Algerian strong motion records are included.$Paragraph$Exposure: for existing bridges have been considered and one of their piers have been analysed in detail.$Paragraph$· Bridge 1: it consists of a four spans with an overall length of 116.80 m. The superstructure consists of a longitudinally reinforced concrete deck slab of 10 m wide and it is supported by three sets of columns and by an abutment at each end. Each set has three columns with a circular cross section of 1.20 m diameter.$Paragraph$· Bridge 2: it has an overall length of 116.00 m with three spans. It is supported by two hollow core concrete bridge piers of rectangular cross section having external dimension of 6.0 m anddeg;- 3.5 m with a hollow core of 4.80 m anddeg;- 2.30 m. The deck width is 15.70 m. The piers have a varying height with the taller one of 15.00 m and the shorter one of 8.50 m.$Paragraph$· Bridge 3: it has an overall length of 64.20 m with two spans. It is supported by a wall pier type of a rectangular cross section having 8.61 m anddeg;- 0.80 m dimensions and 6.81 m height. The deck width is 10.05 m.$Paragraph$· Bridge 4: it has an overall length of 151.80 m with four spans. The bridge is supported by three hammerhead piers with a cross section of 5.00 m anddeg;- 1.80 m. The deck width is 13.06 m. The piers near the abutments have 14.00 m in height while the central one has a height of 17.00 m.$Paragraph$$Paragraph$Summary:$Paragraph$Bridge Overall length (m) Number of spans Deck width (m) Column height (m) $Paragraph$1 116.8 4 10 7 - 8 - 7 $Paragraph$2 116 3 15.7 15 - 8.5 $Paragraph$3 64.20 2 15.5 6.81 $Paragraph$4 151.8 4 13.06 14 - 17 - 14 $Paragraph$$Paragraph$
