Hancilar et. al (2014) - CR_LDUAL school - Case V (Sd)
Description
Name: Hancilar et. al (2014) - CR/LDUAL school - Case V (Sd) | General comments: Typical public school buildings in Istanbul: 4-storey, rectangular shaped RC shear wall building with moment resisting frames.
Seismic Hazard: 107 horizontal components of real earthquake accelerograms from PEER database. The distance and magnitude ranges are 0-50 km and 5.8-7.6 respectively.
Fragility curves account for aleatory uncertainties associated with material properties, geometrical characteristics, cross sectional dimensions and seismic mass of the building and, epistemic uncertainty in the acting direction of earthquake ground motion. Six cases were considered:
1) Deterministic Case: The structure was modelled based on the blueprints of the typical school building project and no uncertainty was considered. (Telastic = 0.53s)
2) Probabilistic Case I: Same structure as the deterministic case. Epistemic uncertainty in the direction of earthquake forces. Direction randomly selected between 0 and 360 degrees. (Telastic = 0.53s)
3) Probabilistic Case II: Includes the uncertainties in concrete compressive strength (f'c) and reinforcing steel strength (fy). (Telastic = 0.425s - 0.866s)
4) Probabilistic Case III: Includes the uncertainties in cross-sectional dimensions in the structural model. (Telastic = 0.448s - 0.564s)
5) Probabilistic Case IV: Includes the uncertainties in span lengths and story heights in the structural model. (Telastic = 0.451s - 0.528s)
6) Probabilistic Case V: Includes the uncertainty in the mass of the building through the uncertainty in concrete density. (Telastic = 0.416s - 0.494s)Valid for: TUR
