Description

Expsoure: A standard bridge is assumed to be a long structure with no appreciable three-dimensional (3D) effects present.$Paragraph$Analytically predicted fragility curves for various different bridge types were validated against fragility curves that were empirically derived from data gathered for highway bridges damaged in the 1994 Northridge and 1989 Loma Prieta earthquakes.$Paragraph$In order to convert the standard bridge fragility curves to a bridge-specific value for a given spectral acceleration, the parameters Kskew and K3D are used as scaling relations.
Fragility parameters: Medians=[0.395, 0.551, 0.67, 0.994], Standard deviations=[0.26, 0.363, 0.441, 0.654]
