Description

Nielson2005 Central and Southeastern United States (CSUS) region Seismic Hazard: two suites of synthetic ground motions are identified (Rix and Wen). One suite is constructed of probabilistic ground motions and the other suite is constructed of scenario seismic events. The final ground motions, which are used throughout this study, were manipulated to produce two orthogonal components for each ground motion.$Paragraph$Exposure: nine bridge classes are considered$Paragraph$Bridge Classes HAZUS Designations $Paragraph$MSC Concrete HWB10, HWB22 $Paragraph$MSC Slab HWB10, HWB22 $Paragraph$MSC Steel HWB15, HWB26 $Paragraph$MSSS Concrete HWB5, HWB17 $Paragraph$MSSS Concrete-Box HWB5, HWB17 $Paragraph$MSSS Slab HWB5, HWB17 $Paragraph$MSSS Steel HWB12, HWB24 $Paragraph$SS Concrete HWB3 $Paragraph$SS Steel HWB3 $Paragraph$Features of the classes$Paragraph$$Paragraph$Different uncertainties are considered in the analyses: epistemic and aleatoric uncertainties in the seismic loading, material uncertainties, bridge bearing uncertainties, uncertainty in abutment and foundation stiffness and uncertainty in assorted modeling parameters.$Paragraph$$Paragraph$In this study other fragility curves are developed based on the two suites of synthetic ground motions considered (Rix and Wen). The reported fragility functions refer to results in which the two suites are combined. Moreover another set of fragility curves, just for PGA, is reported using a unique values of dispersion for each damage states in order to compare the curves with the HAZUS ones. Fragility parameters: Medians=[2.415, 10.898], Standard deviations=[3.216, 15.458] Syner-G taxonomy: MM1= MM2= TD1= TD2= DC= DSS= PDC= TC1= NP= TS1= TS2= HP= Sp= SC=None TCa= BC= LS= Taxonomy link: https://publications.jrc.ec.europa.eu/repository/bitstream/JRC80560/lbna25883enn.pdf
